Education

I graduated in Marine Sciences (Engineer's degree and M.Sc) at the Institut des Sciences de l'Ingénieur de Toulon et du Var (presently SeaTech, Toulon, France) in 2001, after devlopping undregratuate projets at the Institut de Mécanique des Fluides et des Solides (IMFS, Strasbourg, France) and at the Laboratoire en Géophysique et Oceanography Spatiale (LEGOS, Toulouse, France).

I developed my M.Sc. and Ph.D. at the University Paul Sabatier (UPS) and the Laboratoire d'Etudes en Géophysique et Oceanography Spatiale (LEGOS) in Toulouse (Fance) from 2001 to 2005. During my PhD, I studied the interannual variability of the equatorial Atlantic and the remote effects of the Pacific El Nino Southern Oscillation using intermediate coupled models, along with situ measurements and remote sensing data.

I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL/NASA) and the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH) in Pasadena, California (USA) from 2005 to 2007, working on the use of satellite data and Intermediate coupled models to study the air-sea interactions within the Indian ocean at intra-seasonal to decadal timescales, in collaboration with Dr. Claire Perigaud.

I entred the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD, France) in 2007 and joint the Laboratoire d'Etudes en Géophysique et Oceanography Spatiale (LEGOS) in Toulouse (Fance). My research focuses on the inter-comparison of the upwelling current systems along the Eastern coasts of the South American (Humboldt) and African (North Benguela) continents, focusing on the influence of the oceanic equatorial variability and the role of local atmospheric forcing. I also investigate the air-sea interactions at regional scales in these ecosystems using high resolution regional coupled models.

As part of my missions at IRD, from 2010 to 2012, I have been a research scientist at Instituto del Mar del Peru (IMARPE, Lima, Peru). I am presently a reseach scientist in the Departement of Oceanography at the University of Cape Town (UCT). I participate in different projects at regional or international level and supervise several Ph.D. and M.Sc. students.
